What’s A World Without Art?

What’s A World Without Art?

In its various forms, art has existed and evolved along with us from the beginning of time.  Dance, song, sculptures, drawings, they never left our side.  Truth be told, art will outlive us. Whispering our stories to the wind long after we are gone. They embody who we are, where we have been and what we love. I write. It’s my form of art and a piece of the imprint that I hope to leave on the world. My writings have led people to me and me to people. I recently did an electoral piece on a candidate for local office, which led to a phone call I would have never anticipated....

Do You Have To Be On Every Social Media ...

I say it in all of my blogs and I’ll say it again-marketing on social media is not for me.  Really, it’s more networking than anything else.  It’s not that I hate social media.  That’s where my readers and potential partnerships are found.  Utilizing it effectively can just be so time-consuming. For me, it started with Myspace.  What a hoot to think of how popular that network was until Facebook came and knocked it into irrelevance.  Followed by the emergence of Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest and LinkedIn.  All with their own language,...

Social Media Lessons Learned Through Writing

Social Media Lessons Learned Through Wri...

Life is amazing. As soon as you think you have mastered something, you get tested and either fail or realize that you didn’t know as much as you thought you did.  Since I love my fellow writers and understand the struggle of getting an audience that appreciates both your work and voice, I’m going to share my lessons. I launched Queendom Magazine for with two groups in mind; women and writers. How and Why I Became HashTag Happy

How and Why I Became HashTag Happy

I’m not a ‘techie’ or ‘gadget’ girl. Never have been and I doubt that I ever will be. I’m from the time when pagers, or beepers, were the fad and I barely caught on to that.  As sad as it is, although my age places me in the population of people who should be well adept with technology and its trends, I personally struggle. However, as a person building a brand and marketing a product, I understand that my desire to succeed mandates that I develop a functioning knowledge of how to manipulate social media. My social media coach, because I’m so challenged that I need one,...

Have You Tapped Into This Highly Valuable Resource?

Have You Tapped Into This Highly Valuabl...

As an entrepreneur, you are your most valuable resource. However, networking is one of the best things that you can do for yourself and your brand.  All of the powerhouses in my life at this moment are the fruits of networking experiences. Whether our relationships have developed into strong bonds or remained strictly professional for me to learn and build from, I need them all. Often we cluster with like-minded people and fail to see the benefit of venturing out to connect with others who may not think like us, but have the experience and wisdom to educate us on our...

WHO SHOULD BLOG?

WHO SHOULD BLOG?

Everyone!  Since I have started my life as a writer nothing has been the same. My weeks are conference calls, networking events, coaching sessions and learning-always learning. The point of all that I do is to get my brand established and flourishing. How can this be established unless I get my face and my products/services in front of people for them to see how amazing Amani Jackson is? However, as a writer, it never dawned on me to venture into other forms of writing to expand my audience and strengthen my skills. During the course of my interactions, I constantly hear...
