Plato’s The Allegory Of The Cave pgs. 1-4

Plato’s The Allegory Of The Cave pgs. 1-4

Greetings and welcome everyone to the first meeting for Read with Amani! I’m so excited that everyone decided to get a copy of the book and join me in the review of this fantastic piece. So in reviewing the first 4 pages we realized a few things that are happening. Socrates is discussing the inhabitants of a cave with Glaucon, who is said in the book to be Plato’s brother. In these pages we discover not only the condition of the cave and its inhabitants, but also the mentality of those who dwell in the cave. I think it’s great if we begin our discussion on everyone’s perception of what is going on here.
